Ads Insights

See Facebook ad spend, reach and clicks per campaign, ad set and ad in LeadPattern — next to the WhatsApp leads each ad brought in and your cost per lead.

Ads Insights shows how your Facebook and Instagram ads perform without leaving LeadPattern. Spend, reach, clicks and conversations come straight from Meta, and every Click-to-WhatsApp chat is matched back to the ad that started it — so you see how many real leads each ad brought in and what each one cost.

Before you start

  • You need the View Ads Insights permission to open the page. It's on for the Owner and Manager roles by default; admins can turn it on for other roles in Roles & Permissions.
  • Connecting or removing an ad account needs the Connect / Disconnect Integrations permission.
  • On Facebook, you need Admin or Advertiser access on the ad account, or it won't appear in the list.
  • Access is read-only. LeadPattern never creates, edits or pays for ads.

Connect your ad accounts

Click Connect with Facebook, sign in, choose your ad accounts and save.
1

Open Ads Insights

Click Ads Insights in the sidebar and then Connect with Facebook.
2

Sign in to Facebook

Use the Facebook account that manages your ads and allow LeadPattern to read your ad data.

3

Choose ad accounts

Tick every ad account you want to see in LeadPattern.
4

Save

Spend, reach and WhatsApp leads load right away.

To add more ad accounts later, click Connect more. If Facebook access expires, a banner appears with a Reconnect button — data stays hidden until you reconnect.

Before you connect

Even without a Facebook connection, the page lists your Leads from Click-to-WhatsApp ads, grouped by ad, with how many were assigned and closed. These come from your own chats; connecting Facebook adds spend and cost per lead.

Read the dashboard

Pick an ad account and a date range — the tiles, chart and table update together.

At the top, choose the ad account and a date range (today, yesterday, last 7 or 30 days, this or last month, or a custom range). Dates follow the ad account's timezone, and amounts are in its currency — the same as Ads Manager.

TileWhat it means
Amount spentWhat Meta charged for the ads in this range.
ReachPeople who saw an ad at least once.
ImpressionsTimes your ads were shown (one person can see an ad several times).
ClicksAll clicks, with click-through rate (CTR) and cost per click (CPC).
Conversations startedWhatsApp conversations Meta credits to your ads, with the cost of each.
CRM leadsChats in LeadPattern that came from this account's ads, with how many are assigned and closed.
Cost per leadAmount spent ÷ CRM leads.

The Daily performance chart shows spend as bars and conversations started and CRM leads as lines, day by day. Click Refresh to fetch the latest numbers from Meta.

Drill into campaigns, ad sets and ads

Click a campaign to see its ad sets, then an ad set to see its ads.

The table at the bottom has three tabs: Campaigns, Ad sets and Ads. Each row shows the status (Active, Paused…), spend, reach, impressions, clicks, CTR, chats started, CRM leads and cost per lead.

  • Click a campaign to see only its ad sets, then click an ad set to see its ads.
  • Use the breadcrumb (for example All campaigns › Fall Sale) to go back up.
  • Click a column header to sort — for example by cost per lead to find your cheapest leads.

Campaigns that brought leads in the range but had no spend (for example, paused ones) are still listed, so no lead goes missing.

CRM leads vs conversations started

The two numbers come from different places, so they rarely match exactly:

  • Conversations started is Meta's count of WhatsApp conversations it attributes to your ads, including people who tapped the ad but sent nothing useful.
  • CRM leads are actual contacts in LeadPattern whose chat started from one of this account's ads. A lead is counted on the day of their latest ad click.

Troubleshooting

It says Facebook access has expired

Facebook access lasts about 60 days. Click Reconnect, sign in again and save — your ad accounts and history stay as they were.

It says Meta is limiting requests

Meta limits how often ad data can be read. Wait a minute and try again.

It says LeadPattern doesn't have permission to read this ad account

Reconnect and make sure you allow ads access in the Facebook dialog, and that your Facebook user is an Admin or Advertiser on the ad account.

My ad account isn't in the list

Only ad accounts your Facebook user can access appear. Ask the ad account's admin to add you, then click Connect more.

Why are CRM leads 0 when Meta shows conversations?

CRM leads only count chats that came in from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad of this account. Check the date range, and give older chats up to 10 minutes to be matched after connecting.

Does disconnecting an ad account affect my bots?

Yes. Lead from CTWA bots use the same connection — the disconnect dialog shows how many bots use the account before you confirm.
