Calling Requirements

What you need before using WhatsApp Calling in LeadPattern — the calling add-on on your plan and Meta's eligibility requirements for your WhatsApp number.

WhatsApp Calling has two prerequisites: the right add-on on your plan, and a WhatsApp number that meets Meta's eligibility requirements. Both must be in place before calling will work.

1. The calling add-on

Calling is a paid add-on, not included in every plan. Your workspace needs it active before the calling features appear.

2. Meta eligibility

Even with the add-on, your WhatsApp number has to qualify under Meta's requirements for calling. This is controlled by Meta, so eligibility can depend on your number's standing and the regions involved.

3. Customer-side basics

Calling is two-sided, so the customer's WhatsApp matters too:

  • Their WhatsApp app should be up to date — very old versions may not support calling.
  • For an outgoing call, the customer may need to grant call permission.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't calling available on my number?

Calling depends on both your LeadPattern plan add-on and Meta's eligibility rules for your WhatsApp number. If either isn't met, calling won't be available. Check your add-on first, then your number's eligibility.

Do my customers need to do anything?

Your customers call and answer from their normal WhatsApp app. They should be on an up-to-date version, and for outgoing calls they may need to grant call permission.
