Custom Fields
Create custom fields (custom attributes) in LeadPattern to store extra details on each customer — including List fields — and use them to personalize and segment.
Custom fields (also called custom attributes) let you store details about a customer that aren't built in — a plan tier, a city, a renewal date, a preferred language. You can personalize messages with them and filter segments on them.
Field types
Store free-form values like a city, a company name or a reference number.
ListA field with a predefined set of options (a sublist) — pick from a fixed list such as plan: Basic / Pro / Enterprise. Great for clean filtering.
Create a custom field
Open Customers
Go to Customers and open the custom fields area.
Add a field
Give it a clear name. A short, descriptive name makes it easy to find when personalizing and filtering.
Choose the type
Pick the type — for example List when you want a fixed set of options.
Add options for a List
For a List field, define the choices customers can be set to.
Save
The field is now available on every customer and in segment filters.
Set a value on a customer
Open a customer and fill in the field's value — type it in, or pick an option for a List field. Set values when you create or edit a customer, or map a column to the field during import. See
Import customersWhere custom fields pay off
