Conditions & Actions

The nodes a LeadPattern bot can run — send messages and templates, assign agents, tag and update contacts, call an API, branch on conditions and more.

Once a trigger starts a bot, the flow runs a sequence of nodes. Each node is either an action — do something — or a condition — branch the flow based on the contact's data.

Actions

Send message (send_message)

Send a free-form text message. Supports {{field:...}} and {{attr:...}} variables so you can personalize it with the contact's details.

Send template (send_template)

Send an approved WhatsApp template — the only way to message a contact outside the 24-hour window. See Templates.

Send interactive message (send_interactive_message)

Send a message with reply buttons. The customer's tap can branch the flow — see Interactive replies.

Send interactive list (send_interactive_list)

Send a tappable list menu, for when you have more options than buttons allow.

Send flow (send_flow)

Send a WhatsApp Flow — a multi-step form — to collect structured information. See Flows.

Assign agent (assign_agent)

Hand the conversation to a team member. Pairs well with the chat assignment flow your agents already use.

Add / remove tags (add_remove_tags)

Tag or untag the contact — for example to mark them as a lead or remove a "new" tag once handled.

Add to broadcast (add_to_broadcast)

Add the contact to a broadcast group so they receive future campaigns. See Broadcasts.

Set / remove attributes (set_remove_attributes)

Write or clear a custom attribute on the contact — handy for recording a choice the customer made earlier in the flow.

Close conversation (close_conversation)

Mark the conversation as closed, for example at the end of a self-service flow.

Opt out (opt_out)

Opt the contact out of future messaging — respect unsubscribe requests automatically.

Call an API (call_api)

Make an outbound HTTP request to your own system — for example to look up an order or push the lead to a CRM.

Conditions

A condition node checks the contact's data and sends the flow down one path or another. For example: does this contact have the vip tag? — if yes, assign to a senior agent; if no, send the standard reply.

Personalizing message text

Every text field in a message, template or interactive node supports variables resolved at send time:

Use {{field:...}} for built-in fields — {{field:profileName}}, {{field:name.first}}, {{field:name.last}}, {{field:phone}}, {{field:waId}}.
