Customer Segments

Group contacts into segments in LeadPattern using filters like tags and custom fields, then target them with broadcasts.

2 min readUpdated Oct 5, 2026

A segment is a saved group of contacts that match a set of filters — for example everyone tagged VIP in New York. Segments let you reach the right audience with a broadcast instead of messaging your whole contact list.

Add a filter rule, then save it as a named segment.

Dynamic vs static segments

Dynamic

The filter is re-evaluated whenever you use it, so the segment always reflects who matches right now. Great for "all new leads this week".

Static

A snapshot of the contacts who matched at the moment you created it. Use it when you want a fixed audience that won't change underneath you.

Build a segment

1

Open Customers

Go to Customers and open the segments area.
2

Add filters

Combine conditions — tags, custom fields, opt-in status and more — to describe your audience.

3

Save the segment

Give it a clear name. It's now available when you create a broadcast.
