Personalize Broadcast Messages

Fill WhatsApp template variables per recipient in a LeadPattern broadcast so every message reads as if written for one customer.

2 min readUpdated Oct 5, 2026

A template with variables lets one message read differently for every recipient — a name, an order number, a due date. When you build a broadcast, you decide what fills each variable.

Map variables to customer data

1

Pick a template with variables

When the template has placeholders, the broadcast builder shows a field for each one.

2

Map each placeholder

Point each variable at a customer field — for example the contact's name or a custom field — so it resolves per recipient at send time.

3

Preview

Check the preview to confirm the message reads correctly once the values are filled in.

Personalizing from a spreadsheet

If your per-recipient values aren't stored on the contact — say a unique coupon code or an appointment time that lives in a spreadsheet — use a file-based broadcast. Each row carries its own values that map onto the template variables.
