Choose who receives a WhatsApp broadcast in LeadPattern — target a dynamic or static segment, or a named broadcast group.

2 min readUpdated Oct 5, 2026

A broadcast goes to an audience, not your entire contact list. You define that audience with a segment or a broadcast group, then reuse it across campaigns.

Ways to target an audience

Dynamic segment

A filter that is re-evaluated at send time, so the broadcast reaches whoever matches right now — for example all leads tagged this week.

Static segment

A fixed snapshot of the contacts who matched when you created or refreshed it. Use it when you want the same audience every time.

Broadcast group

A named group you curate for recurring campaigns.

Build a targeted audience

1

Tag and enrich your contacts

Consistent tags and custom fields make precise targeting possible. See Customer tags and

Custom fields
2

Save a segment

Describe the audience with filters and save it with a clear name.

3

Pick it in the broadcast

When you create a broadcast, choose your segment or group as the audience.

Dynamic vs static — which to use

  • Choose dynamic when you want the freshest audience each time (new leads, recently active customers).
  • Choose static when you need a fixed list that won't shift between sends — for example a one-time campaign to exactly the people who matched today.
